Nutrition
On the 7th of November, a nutritional therapist came in to talk to us about how food effects our body, she had slides discussing her different points and showing pictures of what we should eat and what we shouldn't eat. There was a table in front of her which had different varieties of healthy food which would help your body become stronger and healthier. The nutritionist started to explain that 90% of our "feel good" hormones are stored in the gut. This means that when we eat healthy food more serotonin is released into our bodies. It is thought that serotonin can affect our mood, social behaviour, appetite, digestion, sleep and memory. She also showed us food that people eaten different cultures, such as Japanese and Asian food. This talk was very helpful and it will definitely help me in the future.
