Cooking Course
On Tuesday the 17th of October I started my three day cooking course with Nicki Walsh, I did this course with my classmates Hugo, Jack, Sean, Daniel, Cillian and Ben. The course started early in the morning and ended at 3pm, so we got on the bus to get in and out of Ranalagh . I had cooked before so I knew the basics. The first day was the hardest as she was teaching us new ways to cook and teaching us how to time ourselves. Nicki had a menu ready for us each day with each recipe we were going to do that day. She would cook all the meals that were on the menu that day in front of us while showing us what to do, and would then give us that for lunch. In the afternoon she would allow us to cook with a partner, which was Daniel in my case, we were only able to cook two or three meals a day, as we didn't have too much time. On the first day we made a tomato soup and bolognese sauce, and I was surprised at how good they were. The second day we made a loaf of brown bread and flapjacks. The last day we made hamburgers, a frittata and delicious chicken goujons which were made with breadcrumbs that we had prepared. I must say every meal was absolutely amazing and Nicki was a great cooking teacher. I learned a lot from this 3 day cooking course, and I plan to cook in the near future.
